About Mimi’s Toffee

To the world she was LaVerne. To us grand-kids she was Mimi.

Mimi obtained her famous English Toffee recipe back in the mid 1940’s, and it was her closely guarded secret! She would make it every year to give out to family and friends as gifts during the Holiday season. When she got older, Mimi needed help in the kitchen, so I was recruited to help her stir. (she even made me leave the room the first few times she measured out the ingredients!)

After Mimi passed away in 2011, I kept up the tradition of making her famous English Toffee every year. Over that time, many people have told me that Mimi’s Toffee is some of the best toffee that they’ve ever had, and that it is more than good enough to market, so, in December of 2020, I decided to make it official, and Mimi’s Toffee was officially born!

I follow Mimi’s original recipe to the letter, using fresh and wholesome butter, sugar, almonds, walnuts, real vanilla extract, and sweet chocolate. Mimi always used milk chocolate, but I have added a dark chocolate option over the years, in either a 50/50 ratio with milk and dark chocolate, or all dark chocolate for those who enjoy a more refined, less sweet, and richer tasting experience.

I don’t make any Mimi’s Toffee until it is ordered, and depending on the work load in the kitchen on any particular day, it can sometimes take an extra day or two before I can get to making more English Toffee, and you will be notified when your order ships

I think of my Mimi every time I make a batch of her famous toffee, and feel honored to keep up her legacy, and am now able to share this with you!
